Instructions
In a medium pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the orzo pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
Pour in the vegetable broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Add the cooked orzo to the skillet and stir until well coated with the cheese sauce. Let it cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to warm through.
Remove from heat and stir in the lemon zest and chopped parsley for a fresh kick.
Serve immediately, garnished with more Parmesan if desired.
