1tablespooncoconut oil (optional, for smoother coating)
1cupcolorful sprinkles (optional)
to tastesea salt flakes (optional)
Instructions
Prepare Your Workstation: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to set the dipped Oreos on. This will prevent them from sticking and make cleanup easier.
Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using). Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth (approximately 1-2 minutes).
Dip the Oreos: Hold an Oreo by one side and dip it into the melted chocolate. Use a fork to ensure it’s fully coated. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off before transferring it to the prepared baking sheet.
Add Sprinkles (Optional): While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle colorful sprinkles over the top for a festive touch. If you prefer a more sophisticated look, you could sprinkle a pinch of sea salt instead for a sweet and salty contrast.
Let Them Set: Once all the Oreos are dipped and decorated, place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes, or until the chocolate is fully set and hardened.
Serve and Enjoy: Once set, the chocolate-covered Oreos are ready to be enjoyed! Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature or in the fridge.
Notes
For a smoother coating, use coconut oil. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
