Ingredients
2
cans
apple pie filling
1
tsp
ground cinnamon
1/2
cup
caramel sauce (plus extra for drizzling)
1
box
yellow cake mix
1/2
cup
unsalted butter, melted
1
cup
chopped pecans (optional)
1
cup
shredded coconut (optional)
1/4
cup
brown sugar
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the apple pie filling and ground cinnamon. Stir well to distribute the cinnamon throughout the apples.
Spread the cinnamon-spiced apple pie filling evenly in the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
Drizzle the caramel sauce over the apple filling, ensuring an even coverage.
Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the caramel and apple layers without mixing.
Pour the melted butter over the cake mix, allowing it to cover as much of the surface as possible.
If using, sprinkle chopped pecans and shredded coconut on top of the buttered cake mix for added texture and flavor.
Finish by sprinkling the brown sugar on top to create a caramelized crust.
Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly around the edges.
Once baked, let the dump cake cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with extra caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream for an extra treat!
